We knew you could not resist knowing whether you are a whiffer or not! Deep down, you really know the answer. But for those of you who need to see it in writing.........well, go ahead and read the following and you will know that you belong to our club.

If at any point in your playing career you did one or more of the following then you most certainly can claim to be a "whiffer":

      if you........

swung and missed (the most obvious)............swung and almost missed (still qualifies)
hit one off of the "el hosel" (you know the virus for which we speak of!)
yipped a 2 footer............3 jacked from inside of 15 feet............4 jacked from any length
hit back to back out of bounds............dumped 2 in a row in the drink
skulled a wedge over the green, almost killing your playing partner(s), or the dog in the backyard behind the green
shattered a window, or battered any part of a house from the tee box
"burned" a few worms........ (attention PETA, this is an industry term, not an actual sacrifice)
hit the tee box marker, and the ball flies backwards, over the clubhouse, and into the parking lot ( I have actually witnessed this)
did not hit your tee shot past the womens tees when Fort Worth rules (if you are not sure-ask!) are in play (or even if you are not playing Fort Worth rules for that matter!)
have thrown your club further than you hit the ball............taken a snowman on any hole............helicoptored............or snapped a shaft (or 3).....

..........then you are definitely a whiffer. If 2 or more apply, the you can proudly call yourself a "big whiffer"

oh yea.........if your swing resembles this.........
.........guess what????? you got it.....100% whiffer!!!!!!!!

Do not be alarmed. Do not be ashamed. It is going to be okay! We have all seen a few 
Pros - both men and women - whom can call themselves whiffers. So wear this as a badge  of honor. For all of the times, many or few, that these have occured in our games, we still battle back - keep playing the game - striving for that next birdie, or par, or bogey. 



       It is our Love of the Game which keeps us coming back for more.








If you feel that you may be a whiffer, but you do not identitfy with any of the above descriptions, then please email us at  rulings@bigwhiffergolf.com and our committee will make a ruling on whether or not you qualify. If you already know that you are a whiffer, but believe you have additional qualifiers, also email the committee, and it will be brought up for review. Any worthy qualifiers will be posted on this page.




On a more serious note, Big Whiffer Golf has created the Big Whiffer Tour for the purpose of hosting charitible golf tournaments so that we may help those less fortunate than ourselves; and because it just feels good to help others. We will be taking the Tour on the road across the country hosting tournaments and/or events, which many will be open to any whiffers wishing to play. We will be looking for whiffers all across the country to come out and participate in our events, and help Big Whiffer Golf raise significant funds for charitible organizations. 

Our very first Tour is in the works as we speak, and what an event it is going to be. We hope to receive permission soon from the charity to host these events for them, so when that happens, all of the details including the charity, will be forthcoming. As a football fan, it is one charity that we know you will want to help. Please check back frequently to see how you can enter  to play, or help sponsor these events.

Houston, home to Big Whiffer Golf and good hearted people, will be called upon to set the bar high when it comes to fund raising. This tournament will set the benchmark for which all of the other outings will be measured. Let's show the rest of the other cities and states how we do it down here in Texas.
